It’s patio season and what could be better post-round than one of these fun golf-inspired cocktails?
From birdie juice to shoving beers into your golf bag, it seems that golf and drinks go hand in hand.
Next time you find yourself parched after making par, try one of these fun cocktail recipes. Your playing partners are sure to be impressed!
1. The Arnold Palmer
This classic golf drink is named for famed player “Arnold Palmer” for he often ordered this combination post-round.
To make it:
Mix equal parts iced tea and lemonade
Serve over ice
Tip: add vodka to this beverage to turn it into a “John Daly” cocktail.
2. The Transfusion
This Augusta National-staple cocktail may be known as “golf’s greatest cocktail.”
Here’s how to make it:
2 oz vodka
½ oz ginger syrup
½ oz fresh squeezed lime juice
2 oz club soda
Serve with concord grape juice ice cubes and garnish with concord grapes and a crystallized sugar stick.
Tip: freeze concord grapes to use instead of ice cubes.
3. The Bobby Jones
Named after one of the founding members of the Masters Tournament and best-playing amateurs of all time, this cocktail is as legendary as the man himself.
To make it:
3 parts brandy
1 part crème de cacao
½ tsp grenadine
Lemon juice to taste
Serve over ice.
4. The Tiger Woods
It’s unclear how this easy-to-make drink got its name, as Tiger was never famed for drinking it particularly. Nonetheless, and just like Tiger in tournament play, it’s sure to please a crowd!
To make it:
1 oz vodka
2 oz lemon juice
2 oz cranberry juice
Layer the ingredients in order over ice in a glass of your choosing. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
5. The Country Club Cooler
This easy mixed cocktail may not improve your game, but it will refresh you post-round!
To make it:
2 oz dry vermouth
½ tsp grenadine
Soda water to fill the remainder of the glass
Mix all ingredients together and serve in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with an orange slice.
